Businesses
Lee's Marketplace
Lee and Sharie Badger opened Lee's Marketplace in 1981 in Smithfield. Today, Lee's now has locations in Northern Ogden, Heber, North Salt Lake, and Herriman. Lee's announced that they were building their Richmond location in 2016 by placing a sign on the field they had purchased from the Harris family. In May of 2022, Lee's family broke ground to build and opened the building on June 20th.
Paco's Tacos
The Interurban Depot has been used by many individuals and businesses in its 108 years of service. Soul Full Cafe opened in the Depot in June of 2022 but closed in October. Paul White, the owner of the building informed us in May of this year that Paco's Tacos would be opening in the Depot. After a small renovation and many fire inspections later, Paco's Tacos opened on Sep 25, 2023.Best of Northern Utah Winners

Revised Trail Master Plan
The Richmond City Trail Master Plan has created its first draft. Richmond City started working with the Cache County and Bear River Association of Governments to create a city-wide Trails Master Plan. In March of 2021, they began the process of a Trail Master Plan by having Richmond Citizens take a 5-10 minute survey. Finally, after 2.5 years of hard work, the first draft was released by the Richmond City official Facebook on Aug 18, 2023. After some time reading all the comments the Richmond citizens posted, the Trail Master Plan was officially adopted on Sep 21, 2023.
General Plan Update
Every decade (10 years) all cities in the state of Utah must make or update their General Master Plan to help guide and direct how the city should be directed. A survey and public hearing were made in 2022 with a draft made in June of 2022.
Richmond City worked with the J-U-B Engineers to update the General Plan, and the plan was adopted on May 18, 2023
Richmond Election
Three members of the City Council will have their terms ending, meaning an election would be held in November. Kelly Crafts, Tucker Thatcher, and Terrie Wierenga will be the members whose terms will end. Bryce Wood and Joel Draxler heeded to the call to serve as the new City Council Members. However, three people had to sign up for the election for the City Council, and because of the lack of individuals, the election was canceled.
Richmond City Officials stated on Dec 26th that an application and interview process will be conducted on Jan 18, 2024, to see who will fill the missing post. Those who want to apply, they can do so via email at jlewis@richmondutah.org or physically at the Richmond Community Center. The deadline is Jan 12, 2024, at 3:00pm.
Richmond removed from Logan Garbage Service
Logan announced in early 2022 that they would no longer serve cities outside of Logan in taking out trash to the Logan Dump. Though it was a chock, most cities and towns worked on getting ready to serve themselves to remove their own trash.
Services from Logan ended July 1st, and all were required to place their blue recycling bins out June 23 so that they could be emptied, and then taken away as they were the property of Logan City, and the new service would not be taking recycling. Econo Waste is the new trash service. Econo Waste serves four counties, including 20 cities/towns in Box Elder.
