New Lewiston Utah Stake Organized
The formation of the new Stake for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Richmond Utah and Benson Utah Stakes began on Sep 24, 2023 at 10 a.m. in the Benson Utah Stake Center in Amalga, Utah. Stake President Mike Hall of the Richmond Utah Stake and President Todd Ballard of the Benson Stake were present with President Ballard conducting. Also presiding were Elder Brian K. Taylor who serves as a General Authority Seventy and Elder John W. Boswell III who serves as an Area Seventy.
The new Stake to be organized is the Lewiston Utah Stake. Wards that would occupy the Stake are:
- Cove Ward; Richmond Utah Stake
- Lewiston 1st Ward; Richmond Utah Stake
- Lewiston 2nd Ward; Richmond Utah Stake
- Lewiston 3rd Ward; Richmond Utah Stake
- Lewiston 4th Ward; Richmond Utah Stake
- Cornish Ward; Benson Utah Stake
- Trenton Ward; Benson Utah Stake
All wards will remain the same size with no altercations to boundaries or bishops.

The new Stake Presidency of the Lewiston Stake are
- President: Joseph Earl Creech Jr.
- First Coun.: Michael Darrell Gibbons
- Second Coun.: Leonard Scott Ward
This now means that the Richmond Utah Stake only contains the city of Richmond with the following wards:
- Richmond 1st Ward
- Richmond 2nd Ward
- Richmond 3th Ward
- Richmond 4th Ward
- Cherry Creek Ward
- City Creek Ward
- High Creek Ward
