New LDS Stake to be organized with Richmond and Benson

On September 10, all LDS Church buildings in Benson, Clarkston, Newton, Richmond, Cove, and Lewiston announced that a new Stake will be organized on September 24, 2023. A letter written by the Richmond Utah Stake Presidency was read in all Richmond Utah Stake buildings, which consists of Richmond, Cove, and Lewiston.

The letter read: "The Richmond Utah State has been invited along with the Benson Utah Stake to attend a Special Stake Conference. The conference will take place on September 24, 2023. Presiding at the conference will be Elder Brian K. Taylor who serves as a General Authority Seventy... [and] Elder John W. Boswell III who serves as an Area Seventy."

The letter continued: This is a wonderful opportunity for each of us. ...Please plan to be in attendance and to offer your sustaining hand, heart and prayers to those who will be called to serve in a new stake."
